Booking With Confidence
Every Moonlion itinerary involves significant upfront planning and prepayment. The terms below explain how cancellations, rescheduling and force majeure events are handled, and why we ask every traveller to carry insurance.
At Moonlion Safaris, we take great care in planning every trip - securing hotels, arranging services, and confirming all details well in advance to ensure a seamless experience. Since these expenses are paid upfront, we are unable to offer refunds if your plans change due to health, work, family, or financial reasons. This policy helps us maintain small group sizes, deliver high-quality trips, and provide personalized service - the way we believe travel should be.
We want you to book with confidence. If you’re concerned that unforeseen changes might affect your ability to join a trip, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. You can choose a trusted provider of your own, or explore options through SquareMouth, which lets you compare policies from a range of providers side by side - see Travel Insurance below.
In the rare event that Moonlion Safaris must reschedule or cancel a trip, you will have the following options:
Moonlion Safaris shall not bear any liability to the agent or its client(s) for any disruption, impediment, or cancellation of services resulting from acts of God or force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, terrorism, war, strikes, epidemics, or government actions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. This exemption from liability applies notwithstanding an inability to deliver contracted services or experiences at or between properties.
In the event of a force majeure occurrence, Moonlion Safaris has no obligation to provide or bear the costs of alternative accommodation, transportation, or any other expenses incurred by the affected parties, and the occurrence shall not entitle the agent or client(s) to any refund, compensation, or damages beyond what is explicitly provided for under this policy.
Agents and guests are required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance as a condition of booking. Policies must provide adequate coverage for medical emergencies, evacuation, and repatriation, as well as protection for personal property, trip cancellation, and flight or trip delays - including any out-of-pocket expenses resulting from carrier disruptions or itinerary changes. Moonlion Safaris assumes no liability for financial losses incurred due to inadequate coverage.
Protect yourself from cancellations, natural disasters and global events. For your peace of mind, we require all travellers to carry travel insurance. It’s an extra expense, yes - but when the unexpected happens, you’ll be glad you have it.
Travel insurance can feel overwhelming with all the fine print, so take time to understand exactly what’s covered before you buy. That way, you won’t face any unwelcome surprises down the road.
There are plenty of providers out there, but we recommend SquareMouth, a trusted service that lets you compare policies from around twenty top-rated companies. This makes it easy to shop around, find the right coverage, and secure the protection that fits your trip best.
